Lippert Memorial Award. The SIA Lippert Award Committee, composed of previous recipients of the award, chose Nilsson from a field of nominees. "Fredrik...personally takes an active role in industry events, while empowering, supporting and encouraging others in his company to also get involved. Fredrik's charity, strong values and good nature serve him and our industry well," said SIA Chairman Denis Hebert. Nilsson will receive the award during SIA Honors Night during ISC East. ● ADT Joins PPVAR: The Partnership for Priority Verified Alarm Response (PPVAR), a public-private partnership comprised of electronic security stake- holders from law enforcement, the home and property insurance indus- tries, and the security alarm industry, has announced that ADT has joined the organiza- tion as a full industry member. Since its establishment in 2012 to promote the value of verified alarms and priori- tized police response, PPVAR has been a leading educator on the enhanced efficiency, cost effectiveness, and the corresponding impact on public safety of alarm verification. ADT, which merged with Protection 1 in May 2016, is imple- menting video moni- toring technology and best practices to its standard alarm services. "ADT strongly believes in the process and the values of PPVAR and its members," said Donald Young, Chief Information Officer at ADT. "The emer- gence of high-quality video and intrusion detection technology, and the resulting rise in efficiency of central monitoring practices, has been undeniable in the effectiveness of alarm verification for protecting the public and law enforce- ment alike." ● Top Manufacturers Tighten Grip on Security Market: The security indus- try's leading companies are expected to continue their market dominance for the foreseeable future, according to IHS Markit. The research firm notes that the market share of the top 15 secu- rity equipment and services companies grew to 23.1 percent in 2015, which, according to its latest report, will further increase in 2016. The numbers do not include recent M&A; activity, includ- ing the merger of Tyco with Johnson Controls, the acquisition of Diebold by Securitas, or ADT's merger with Protection 1 and ASG Security. ● ADS Makes its Fifth Acquisition of 2016: ADS Security of Nashville, Tenn., has acquired 1,600 customer accounts from Dothan, Ala.- based Sanders Security, estab- lishing it as the seventh ADS branch location in Alabama and the 21st branch location companywide.
