Bush will address attendees with a key- note speech at the event's opening at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. President Bush will open the conference on Sept. 25, where he will share insights on his eight years in the White House, his experiences with world leaders, the nature of public leadership and decision making, and his perspective on current domestic and international issues. The session is sponsored by Altronix . PSA Announces New Venue, Dates for TEC: As it opened the educa- tional portion of its annual confer- ence on in May, PSA Security Network announced it is moving next year's TEC Conference to the city of Denver to accommodate increased demand. "We've outgrown this facility (the Westin in Westminster, Colo.); in fact, we actually had to co-locate the event in two different hotels to accommodate the num- ber of attendees," PSA Director of Marketing Kim Garcia said. "Of course, it's a good prob- lem for us to have, but that's the pri- mary reason for us moving." Next year's TEC Conference will be held at the Downtown Denver Sheraton on March 11-15. Garcia said PSA plans to keep the event in that general timeframe, instead of early May that integrators have become accustomed to. Garcia added that the new location will enable PSA to "expand the event, both the exhibits and the classroom." Founded in 1972, OSS brings to Convergint more than 50 employees and strengthens Convergint's expertise in complex enterprise systems integration.   Trump Orders Review of Government Cybersecurity : President Trump has ordered federal agencies to review their vulnerability to cyber- attacks and how to limit the dangers. The executive order left unclear how much input technology businesses and security consultants would have in the pro- cess. The order instructs many federal agency heads – includ- ing the secretary of commerce, the Department of Defense and the attor- ney general – to review their depart- ments' cybersecurity capabilities and vulnerabilities. "The government should use all its resources to secure its infor- mation technology and data, the order said. "The executive branch has for too long accepted antiquated and difficult-to-defend IT." To help drive the point home, the BBB held a press conference last month in Sacramento, Calif., in conjunction with The Monitoring Association (TMA) , the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and ADT , to share statistics about the problem and to allow victims to share their stories. Of the 3,500 business categories tracked by the BBB in 2016, home security sales ranked in the top 25 for the most number of complaints. "We're in the life safety business, and credibility is incredibility important," TMA Executive Director and CEO Jay Hauhn said. Guardian's Colosimo Steps Down: Joe Colosimo , president of Guardian Protection Services , announced his resignation on May 12 to "take some much-needed time off," a release said, adding he "plans to return to the security industry as soon as possible." Since joining Guardian in 1980, Colosimo has been a key contributor to the company's rapid growth from a few hundred subscribers to more than 350,000. Bryan Cipoletti , CFO of The Armstrong Group of Companies – Guardian's parent company – will serve as acting president.
